How To Ship-n-Destroy

It's easy to Ship-n-Destroy. Fill out the online quote form by clicking on the big red button that says "QUOTE". We offer two options to best suit your needs, Premium Service and Regular Service.

Option 1 - Premium Service

Once your order is submitted, we will process your request and ship a securable plastic tote to your location, 2 numbered locks, instructions and a return shipping label in a cardboard box.

Secure lockable tote and packing instructions Fill the tote with the material you wish to destroy/recycle. Use filler such as newspaper to help with shifting of contents. Secure the locks onto each end of the tote, place inside cardboard box with a copy of the receipt. Reseal the cardboard box and attach return shipping label.

You can then drop the box off at the nearest shipping facility or place where UPS picks up packages.

Option 2 - Regular Service

Click on the button "Quote" and fill in the quantities of the items you wish to have destroyed or recycled. Enter your city, state and zipcode, spam blocker information and click "Get Quote Now" at the bottom of the page to see your destruction/recycling and shipping quote. Here you will see the amounts for "Premium Service and Regular Service". You then have the option to "buy it now" or to make adjustments to the quantities. Fill in your payment information and submit your order. On the order confirmation page please print out your shipping label. (If you have forgotten that step or had browser issues you can log into your account and reprint the label from there).

What happens to your package once we receive it?

Premium Service: Upon arrival of your secure container we verify the locks and finish processing your order. All hard drives are scanned and logged into our system, computers/servers and facsimile equipment are checked to make sure that the hard drive has been removed. You will receive an email containing your certificate of destruction as your verification that your material has been destroyed by our trained professionals.

Regular Service: Upon arrival of your package we verify the contents of your shipment against your order. All hard drives are scanned and logged into our system, computers/servers and facsimile equipment are checked to make sure that the hard drive has been removed. You will receive an email containing your certificate of destruction/recycling as your verification that your material has been destroyed by our trained professionals.

Hard Drive Destruction:

Hard drive memory platters are crushed by NAID certification standards in our HD Hammer. Destroyed, unreadable hard drives are shipped to a U.S. EPA certified facility for recycling. A serial number Certificate of Destruction is retained by you and SecurShred. Other electronic media including backup tapes, micro media, and cassettes are destroyed with shredding equipment at our facility.

Our HD Hammer assures that your hard drive will be completely destroyed. Unlike other methods such as drilling, hammering, or degaussing our HD Hammer assures that your information is permanently destroyed.

Paper, Electronics & Micromedia, Plastic, etc:

Our shredding equipment has powerful blades that shred material into unrecognizable bits. Files and information are no longer recognizable and cannot be reconstructed as they mix with thousands of pounds of paper from other orders. The paper is bailed in a NAID certified plant and is securely shipped to a paper mill for recycling. All material is kept secure until it is properly recycled back into paper and other products.

What happens to the materials after they are destroyed?

Ship-n-Destroy uses End-of-life recyclers that comply with all State and Federal regulations and will recycle your hardware into its raw materials for reuse. Our recyclers are located in the U.S. and use a "cradle to grave" tracking system. This assures that the electronic waste does not end up in the hands of other companies, landfills or illegally exported to other nations.

All paper is send to a plant in where it is recycled back into tissue paper.
