E-Waste EXPOSED

Do you know that each year millions of tons of electronic waste are produced? The United States generated 6.92 million tons of e-waste, (about 46 pounds per person,) in 2019. And yet, only a small portion of this waste – 15% of the material, was recycled properly

So how do we deal with this?

Many states like Vermont, have antiquated recovery facilities and do all sorting by hand. Yet, in spite of sorting recycling by hand, Vermont still managed to rank #2 in the US for managing waste. The Top 5  were Connecticut, Vermont, Minnesota, California and Oregon.

Winds of Change

Arkansas, currently ranked #44 on the list, passed legislation for Advanced Recycling initiatives to improve those numbers last May. New York recently passed legislation to build advanced recycling facilities to create new plastics out of used and recycled products.
